2019 Accolades

2019 Bachelder Gamay Noir – Wismer Foxcroft

Sometimes the name of Mr. B’s wines gets away from him as he tries to give information to the consumer – his inner geek comes out and lets his freak-flag-fly … But it’s also an interesting look into the making of these wines. The best part of this wine is the Thomas does not let too much “technique” get in the way here. At only 22% whole cluster the fruit shines a little brighter with red berries, a la cranberry and sour cherry, but also fills in the gaps with violets, smoke and pepper … As it opens those red berries go black cherry and the rest remains – plus that kick of acidity is a real bonus.
